Resume

I’m a researcher with an engineering and medical background, currently performing research on the interface between clinical application and engineering challenges in electrocardiography and other applications in cardiac electrophysiology.

Work experience

2016-present (0.4FTE, permanent position): Senior scientist at Philips Research in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, focusing on cardiac electrophysiology modeling.
2019-present (0.6FTE, permanent position): Assistant professor at the CARIM School for Cardiovascular Diseases, part of Maastricht University Medical Center+, Maastricht, the Netherlands, investigating sudden cardiac arrest with clinical observations, experimental studies and computational models.
2018-2019 (Nov-May): Postdoctoral researcher at the Experimental Cardiology Deparment of Amsterdam UMC (location AMC), Amsterdam, the Netherlands, investigating repolarization abnormalities as substrate of cardiac arrhythmias.
2018 (Feb-Nov): Visiting postdoctoral scientist at the LIRYC institute for cardiac arrhythmias, Bordeaux, France, experimentally studying the substrate of ventricular arrhythmias in a tors-tank setup.
2016-2018: Postdoctoral researcher at the CARIM School for Cardiovascular Diseases, part of Maastricht University Medical Center+, Maastricht, the Netherlands, investigating the substrate of cardiac arrhythmias.
2010-2016: MD/PhD student at the BioInformatics and BioMathematics (BMI) group of the Department of Knowledge Engineering, Maastricht University, and the CARIM School for Cardiovascular Diseases, part of Maastricht University Medical Center+.
